Just wanted to give a quick shout out to the affiliate team for this weekend! TJ and I wish you the best of luck!

Hope everyone had a nice weekend.
Two things this morning:
1. Justin, some of us girls have been talking and were wondering if it was possible to have a basic skills class at WCCF maybe once a month or once every two weeks. Some topics to be reviewed could be the various lifts, tips to certain excercises, kips, etc. Just an idea.
2. This Saturday, Yaz and I are planning on the first annual WCCF Girls night at the Long Room off of Irving and Ashland around 7:30 pm. All WCCF girls welcome, so please come.

Ashley - great idea. We're looking into it. We also have Sunday open gym 11am-1pm. There is always a WCCF coach present, and this is a great opportunity to come in and work on the basic skills outside of a class/group workout setting.

First ANNUAL girls night? So if, say, a girl is representing WCCF in a competition in CA this Sat., she has to wait til next YEAR to participate in the mother-of-all girls' nite? PLEASE say it ain't so. May I propose a Quarterly or Bi-Annual Meeting of the Buff Ladies Society (the BLS)? I'd get on board with that.

Thank you Windy city CF. It was a great workout. Thanks for the push. It was nice to meet you Peyton, Sean, justin, Jane, and my fellow Texan.
Whenever any of you guys are in the big D, stop by!

We will be celebrating to fuel your fire in CA and yes we can definitely meet up more frequently.

I'm sorry to miss "girls night"- I'll be camping this weekend- and hopefully following the games on Twitter???
Does anyone have a paper copy of "Born to Run"? I just finished it on my Kindle and loved it!!! However, I suspect there were some great pics that my electronic version deprived me of. I'd appreciate a quick viewing.

Bridgid - I have the hard-cover edition of "Born to Run." No pics in that copy; however, check out this slideshow from the Copper Canyon Ultra Marathon on YouTube...all the characters are pictured...link below.

Hey everyone, I've been tossing around the idea of putting together a scavenger hunt type pub crawl afternoon, so am just thowing it out there to see if people would be interested in doing this for fun? I have yet to put one together for Chicago and kinda have the basics there so if I get enough ok's I'll finish it up.

J$,
I think its time to send CFHQ a video of your 30 MU's for time. Did you see the mainsite video? You blow this guy away, even with his "extreme kip"

I am definitly down with a girls night! As you all know it's hard for me to resist a Saturday drink fest with WCCF! Thanks to everyone who came over on the 4th! The good news is we didn't have the cops called! The bad news is people left some items which we'll bring to the gym this week!

Sounds fun Brenda. I am not available until the end of August due to school but If I can swing it I am down. Just no hard booze I don't want to get kicked out of Crossfit.

Hey ladies,
I would love to come to girls night, but I'll actually be celebrating my birthday that night...so if you get bored with the Long Room come down to The Ledge (1745 W. North Ave.). Guys are welcome too, the more the merrier!

Brenda a pub crawl scavenger hunt? ... They have those? BC is in.
P.S. BC has his first serious question ever:
I despise running and have never done so for longer than a sprint before crossfit. I'm getting soreness in my lower shins post WODs that include running as a mandate. Can anyway give me a quick-fix solution, without the Neman-esque link to a long-winded website?
Posted by: BC | July 06, 2009 at 09:18 PM
BC-- here is some (mayhaps) helpful advice. It has pictures so you could do zero reading and still find relief!!
http://www.racewithpurpose.org/e107_plugins/content/content.php?content.17
Brenda-- I'm in for a scav-hunt.
Peyton-- Hey how are you?!
Lastly, this tweet goes out to Corey-- OMG, I just ate a WHOLE pineapple, guys. Yep. The whole thing. :-o

14:58 - CTB, 1/2 mile on treadmill
I've found that I usually go faster on the treadmill than outside. The stakes are higher. Take it easy outside and enjoy. Take it easy on the treadmill and fall. (I'll always prefer outside, though. Used the treadmill only because I didn't have an accurate 800m measurement.
Best of luck to the affiliate team! I'm excited to see you all there.
