I am a bit late on memory lane, but I want to toss my stories in the hat.
I start CrossFitting my last semester of college, after a trip abroad I was set to move to the fine city of Chicago. Leading up to my move I incessantly checked cf.com for something other than that dreadful old crossfitchicago page that hadn't been update in a year. Finally J$ and WCCF popped up and I was in.
I don't remember my first WOD, but I do remember being super sore from GHD sit-ups.
Favorite memories from the old Box: promising to show up on Friday at 6:30 AM and never showing on Friday at 6:30 AM, Walking to Doogie's house to use the bathroom during the tactical strength challenge, Grace, 15 minutes of KB hell, Saturday morning WODs w/ Dingo, Hungover Murph, Doogie and Mr. Danks at my July 4th party, teaching people to Squeeze the grape, Big Nicky, Cal, Regs, Seany Cakes, and Huddy in Aromas, Seans
post about strippers, and never being able to find J$ house.
It was and still is an amazing place. Thanks to J for inspiring me on my current career path and reinvigorating my love for coaching. I truly wish Austin, and Chicago weren't on opposite sides of the country so I could see my family much more often. Like its been said many times here WCCF is above and beyond CrossFit its a special place that outshines the rest.
Looking forward to May,
Snipes

Belated Happy Birthday, WCCF! I'm thrilled to be a part of it.
Thanks to Heath for getting me in the door and to the coaches for believing that I can do the workouts! Thanks also for CrossFit Kids: I love that Gabe is learning to be strong & healthy while having fun.

Not sure how I stumbled upon this, but reminded me that I have never met the famous "Sarge" in person. From Sarge's online log...notice the last line.
30 rounds for time:
3 pull-ups
3 push-ups
3 medicine ball cleans
3 box jump, 24" (18")
Team 8:
Rosey
Sarge
Bruce
Kent

My hands are shredded - 8 rips. I'm ****ed. The chili cook-off afterward was a good time, though.

Sarge - if you're out there, come back to us big fella. We miss ya!

This is so funny. I do check the WCCF website every now and then. But it is funny that I checked it today. For those that do not know me I own CrossFit of Naperville. I am the guy in the green shirt on the left of the picture. That day was the first time I did "Murph".
Justin and a lot of people at WCCF have been very supportive, and I truly appreciate you all.
Keep up the great work.

Did Tuesday's wkout at home today... it sucked... a lot.
10 Strict CTB pullups (no kipping on the portable bar in the doorframe)
15 dips (no rings set up, dips off box)
20 giant tupperware box jumps (I strongly suggest everyone try box jumps with your feet apart, landing at the sides so you don't smash the middle of your box - again)
25 squats

Wow. Awesome picture. Now after Neil's post I've got all but 2. Even though I haven't been around much lately, I feel honored to be a part of this community. Congrats J$ on the anniversary, you've built an incredible box.
